What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and provide information to the people who run the site. yearsixlearning also uses similar technologies, such as local storage, for the same purposes.
How we use cookies
yearsixlearning uses cookies to keep families signed in securely, remember settings, and understand how the service is used so we can improve it. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles of children, and we do not sell information collected through cookies.
Types of cookies we use
Essential cookies
These cookies are necessary for yearsixlearning to work. They keep parents and children signed in, remember security tokens, and support core features such as saving progress and study plans. Essential cookies are provided by Firebase Authentication and Firebase Hosting and cannot be switched off, as the site cannot function correctly without them.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how families use yearsixlearning, such as which pages and practice topics are visited and how long sessions last. This helps us improve the site and build better UK Year 6 SATs and 11+ preparation content. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymised, aggregated usage information; it does not collect a child's name, school, or contact details.
Preference cookies
These cookies remember choices such as display settings and practice preferences so families do not need to reset them every visit. They make the service easier and more consistent to use.
Managing cookies
Most web browsers let you control cookies through their settings, including viewing, deleting, and blocking cookies from some or all sites. Please note that if you block essential cookies, parts of yearsixlearning, such as signing in or saving progress, may not work correctly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as yearsixlearning develops or as the cookies and services we use change. The latest version will always appear on this page.
