Privacy Policy

How we protect and use family account information for UK Year 6 SATs and 11+ preparation.

Last updated: 2 September 2026

What this policy covers

This policy explains how yearsixlearning handles personal information when families use our UK Year 6 SATs and 11+ preparation tools. A parent or guardian should create and manage the family account. Children should use only the profile set up for them by their parent or guardian.

Information we collect

We collect the account details provided by the parent or guardian, including parent name and email address. For a child profile, we collect a screen name, school year, avatar choices, practice preferences, answers, progress, achievements, study activity, and learning-plan information. We do not ask children to provide their full name, contact details, or school name to use yearsixlearning.

How we use information

We use family account information to provide sign-in, save progress, personalise practice, create study plans, and show parents a clear view of learning activity. We may use account email addresses to send essential account messages, such as verification or security notices. Optional email preferences can be changed in the profile settings.

Children's privacy

yearsixlearning is designed for family use. Parent or guardian accounts control child profiles and their learning data. Child secret words allow each child in a family to sign in to their individual learning experience; they do not provide parent-level access. Parents should keep account passwords and secret words private and contact us promptly if they believe an account has been used without permission.

Sharing and security

We do not sell personal information. We use trusted service providers to run yearsixlearning, including authentication, database, and hosting services. These providers process information only as needed to operate and secure the service. We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.

Cookies and local storage

yearsixlearning uses essential browser storage and cookies to keep users signed in, remember settings, and support core features, and Google Analytics cookies to understand usage. These are not used to build advertising profiles of children. You can manage browser storage through your browser settings, although doing so may affect sign-in and saved preferences. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.

Keeping and deleting information

We keep account and learning information while a family account remains active so that progress can be continued over time. A parent or guardian can update account details and preferences in Profile and Settings. Account deletion is available from that page; deleting an account removes the associated family information, subject to any legal or security retention requirements.

Your rights and changes to this policy

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of personal information. Parents or guardians can use Profile and Settings to manage much of this information. We may update this policy as yearsixlearning develops; the latest version will always appear on this page.
